Aley Waterman spends most of her time working towards her English MA at MUN and writing/recording for her band GALA’s upcoming album. She is interested in the gap between personal desire and public/external expectation, a theme that she often explores in her musical and creative writing. She currently lives in Georgetown with 2 friends and 2 cats. An active member of the St. John’s creative arts scene, Aley is co-editor of Paragon, a literary arts journal. Aley has received several acknowledgements for her creative writing, including honourable mention for the Gregory J. Powell award and making the shortlist for the Cuffer Award. Aley also spends her time attempting to learn to knit socks.
